Well the exiting news for the week is that we are having a girl. We have a couple of names we are kicking around, but nothing is official. She is healthy and the doctors were pleased with what they saw. So come June we will introduce our beautiful little girl. Please keep Beth Ann in your prayers as the pregnancy continues.
Levi and Liam are doing well. Liam continues to look for trouble by attempting to jump off table tops and beds. He continues to attempt new words everyday, but is solid on all the major sports that end in ball. Primarily football. Levi is doing great he has been playing basketball. He has a few steals under his belt, but has yet to score. He was also the only one of us to predict that he was having a baby sister.
Beth Ann is doing well she has been dealing with some allergy issues over the past few days. Her pregnancy has been normal, uncomfortable, but normal. She has had a few opportunities to continue to be involved with worship ministries here and at our previous church Thomas Road and for our friend Steve at their student ministry.
Mike has been busy working through our church plant proposal. The proposal is something we submit to local churches to show them our game plan as well as make them aware of our financial needs. Please pray that we are very clear and concise as we want to be good stewards as others continue to support us. We will start bringing on new partners over the next four months. Based on our early estimates we will need a 13-15 church or individual partnerships to reach our fundraising goal for this upcoming year.
To prep this document and build relationships Mike has been spending a lot of time in the area where we will be planting. Mike spends most of his afternoons in the area to primarily build relationships and get familiar with the people/places where we will be ministering. A few conversations have occurred, but nothing too significant yet. Keep praying a few of the initial conversation should lead to more in depth gospel conversations in the near future.
Church: We have been meeting weekly with a group in the area and talking through scripture and discussing future direction. Group has been good and many of our people already are engaging missional opportunities to share the gospel. On March 26 we are having a vision night for both our current group and future participants. This night will give those who attend a game plan layout for the rest of the year. Our intent is to have our people focus on three things.
Group life with high emphasis in adopting missional engagement opportunities.
Discipleship leading to healthy spiritual multiplication
Gathering: Creating opportunity to encourage the ministry and unity of the church.
All that to say we have some great things happening in our fellowship and we are looking forward to the days ahead.
Please continue to pray for the following…
There is only 1 Gospel centered Church for every 4,000 people in this area and the area continues to grow with new housing developments.
Our Core community continues to grow with 25 Adults regularly engaged. We have many others who have shown interest and are looking to join us in the next couple of months.
Pray for our team, we have another couple who are sharing the ministry responsibilities with us. Josh and Stacey Turner are partnered with us with previous experience planting a church in Louisa, Virginia.
Pray for us to find a home in this community. Currently we are just south of this area and would like to find a place where we can host a community group and connect with the unchurched in a neighborhood. Thus pray that God would make clear soon the neighborhood he wishes for us to reach.
Pray for us to find spaces of influence in the community. We want to find clear places where we can engage people in our community that don’t live in our neighborhood. Places we can frequent and build relationships for the sake of the gospel. Also pray that our core community would also be able to clarify in their lives where these spaces exist. One of our current places of influence is our local gym which has a branch in the area we are moving. I will start frequenting this gym more regularly and we will be plugging our oldest son into sports in the next couple of months.
New Prayer Requests: We have recently had a lot of repairs needed for our family vehicle and recently the alternator went out 2 weeks after we had repairs on the electrical system. This will set us back $795 which was an unexpected expense. Currently we are trying to figure out what avenues we need to take to financially cover the repairs. None the less we believe God's got it and it will get resolved.
Pray for our community group we are not quite ready to multiply, because we are working through some things in our early stages. However, the home we are using is getting cramped and we going to move us over to another space. We are walking our community through some key information (vision, value, mission, etc.) and want the continue to meet as a larger group so that when we multiply groups we will be on the same page. Also pray for this group as some have been sick and have not been able to attend.
